Svilen Blazhev - Svika
Born on September 27, 1953 in Kyustendil.
In 1980 graduated "Mural Painting" in National Academy of Arts, Sofia in the class of prof. Dimo Zaimov.
A member of The Union of Bulgarian Artists. From 1980 to this moment he realized over 25 exhibitions in Bulgaria and other countries, more important of them are- in Sofia(Gallery Dosev, National Art Gallery, Gallery "Ruski 6"), Plovdiv("The Red Poni"), Burgas(Gallery "Burgas"), Kyustendil, Samokov, Limassol, Bucharest, Helsinki, Viena, Hamburg, Zurich (1987-2001).
From 1979 on takes part in representative exhibitions of Modern Bulgarian Arts in Europe and USA. His monument constructions are in Kyustendil and Bobov dol.
He is a winner of 8 awards for painting and drawing in national exhibitions. In 1987 he won Grand prix of International Trienale of the life-like painting. In 1985 won a competion for creative stay in La Cite des Arts, Paris. Svilen Blazhev is a winner of national award "Struma" for complete contribution and attainments to arts. His pictures are property of National Art Gallery, Sofia City Art Gallery, Museum "Pushkin", collection "Ludwig", Vatican Museum of Modern Arts, collection BRDA, Finland, Germany, Czech. Slovakia, Macedonia, England.
His biggest exhibition from 2006 in halls of National Art Gallery was retrospective. His works were in gallery "Artin"(The Plein-airs KFC), "Arteya", "Bullart", "Eight".
